DelMonte is my brand of choice for their green beans. They are the Cadillac of canned green beans. I have never had them this way but now I definitely am going to try this recipe! Thank you so much!

I have a case of green beans, unopened, because I didn't want to just dump the in a pan. These look just like what I grew up with-thank you!
I did learn to put sugar in vegetables from Grandma Brown. In Lakeland FL. Love watching your channel. That is how Grandma Makes ! God Bless To All 🙏
love that pot where did you get it
Have you ever added sugar to your fried potatoes? I need to try it because people do it and it puts a good crust on the potatoes.
Where’s the recipe?
You said 3 ingredients what was the third ingredient?
What is the 3rd ingredient?
I love Green Beans, and a lot of folks would say I cook them to death. I use my Mom's method. Fresh or canned, put them in a pot with a piece of sidemeat or strick-o-lean. I'm in Florida now, so I can't get that, but I use something similar called jowl bacon. Also, a spoon of sugar, she would have eyeballed it. Cook them on the slowest simmer with the lid on and leave them on for at least 12 hours. I'll often let them cook all day and then put them in the fridge, and then simmer them some more the day I plan to serve them. Salt and pepper to taste. They'll end up coming out dark and taste somewhat meaty.
We just had green beans the other night from the can. Now I feel like I wasted them just being regular beans.
