I have actually considered becoming an expert in ramen. I love the way it is made, the flavors that it brings together, and the different textures and tastes that can range from soup to chewy noodles, to a richly flavored broth, to savory fried rice. There are a few different ingredients and styles, but I think there is a universal appeal across the board.
A few weeks ago, I posted a quick recipe for a vegetarian ramen that used a variety of different mushrooms and a lot of greens. It’s been a long time since I played around in the kitchen, and when I got my hands on some Purple Wheat Ramen noodles, I was so excited, I didn’t even put the recipe together right away. It had a delicious, salty broth and a variety of flavors, but there just was something missing. The minced beef, once added was a game changer.
