I’m a huge fan of Korean yangnyeom chicken wings. A big one. I can remember when I’d visit a friends house and there’d be yangnyeom chicken wings that hit all of my buttons on my yangnyeom chicken wing radar. My palate is very picky.
We have had our share of Korean chicken in the past, but this chicken is different, in every way. This is a dish that was served in one of those restaurants where they offer yangnyeom chicken wings as starting dish. It’s one of those restaurants that also make the most delicious fried pork. It was served as an entree, with about four large pieces on the plate.
The chicken wings are fried in batter and they are just wonderful in their crispiness. When they are placed on the table, you think you are ordering heavenly chicken wings. They are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, perfect to eat with your fingers!
To this day we still cook up a batch with our kids at our house, every week. For those who don’t know about it, this is the dish that got us married. It has become our Sunday family tradition.
